Lone ousted board member to re-offer

Only one former member of the Halifax Regional School Board says he wants to return to his position, while two other former members are trying for a seat on city council instead.

Gin Yee, who represented Dartmouth Centre-Albro Lake-Harbourview before the board was disbanded tells the Herald he's hoping voters will put him back on the school board in the upcoming October 18 election.

Yee says he'd like to serve the people again. If he's elected, he'll represent a larger district due to changes that will mean there will be 8 electoral districts instead of 12.

He's the only former member that is running in the school board election. Bridget Ann Boutilier and Deborah Brunt both plan to run for municipal council instead.
