Gin Yee, former Halifax Regional School Board member representing Dartmouth Centre, Albro Lake/Harbourview, will donate to the Halifax Regional School Board all pay received after Dec. 19, 2006.

"It would be unfair to taxpayers for me to receive a stipend from the school board beyond December 19," Yee said.

He said he hopes the donated funds will be directed to improve access to French immersion in Dartmouth Centre, Albro Lake/Harbourview.

"This is something very important to my constituents and to me. Residents in Dartmouth Centre, Albro Lake/Harbourview have been pleading for better access to resources for French immersion," Yee said.

"I hope this gesture will help the Halifax Regional School Board overcome recent events and move forward to concentrate on providing top-notch education."

Yee will transfer open constituents' case files to Howard Windsor and the staff of the Halifax Regional School Board.

"I would like to wish Howard Wilson well in his new position."

"I also want to thank residents in Dartmouth Centre, Albro Lake/Harbourview for allowing me to be their representative for the past two years. It has been an honour to serve them."
