Speech to Board Members

Thank you Mr. Chair.

Fellow board members, let me begin by thanking Kim Berkers for nominating me and board members that have supported me. I am deeply honored with your support.

In the last few months under the leadership of the Chair, Gary O’Hara I have seen the Halifax Regional School Board improved as an elected body .  I want to help Gary and all members of the Halifax Regional School Board in improving the Halifax Regional School Board by serving as your Vice Chair.  I will use my knowledge of the rules and my experience as a presiding officer to assist all Board members.  One principle I will follow as your Vice Chair

"Treat others as you would like to be treated"

This is a principle I have tried to follow in my life and hope to bring to the Office of the Vice Chair of the Halifax Regional School Board.
